Onboarding & Training
Reedsburg Ambulance Onboarding & Training Process
Onboarding
Reedsburg Ambulance will work with you and others that are onboarding to pick an orientation date that works best for the majority. New employees are expected to make themselves available to begin work on that date. The first day of work consists of administrative tasks and functions including completing the required employment forms with the business manager, introduction to Information Technology policies/procedures, and orientation to the station facilities, systems, uniforms, etc.
On-the-job Training
New employees are assigned to work with one or more experienced preceptors, who use a standard training plan to help measure and develop the new employee's skills. During this time, new employees will be provided ample opportunity to demonstrate minimum competency in clinical and operational aptitudes.
Continued Learning
Once new employees have been cleared to work independently without preceptor oversight, they are expected to continue to develop and hone their education and skills. The service provides ample in-house training opportunities as well as partnering with other entities. To the best of its ability, the service supports employees in their pursuit of continued learning and development at classes & conferences.
